ISUG is the premier location for PowerBuilder resources on the Internet. We strive to be the focal point for PowerBuilder, a "one stop shop" for every PowerBuilder developer out there. Here's what members have access to:
- A complimentary personal-use copy of PowerBuilder
- Technical articles on developing with PowerBuilder
- "How To" videos demonstrating tips and techniques with PowerBuilder
- The PowerBuilder Product Manager's Blog
- Training courses for new PowerBuilder developers
- Help forums for asking community members for assistance
- PowerBuilder Wiki -- A collaborative effort to help PowerBuilder users.
- Open Source PowerBuilder projects
- Enhancements Process to provide feedback to Sybase on future PowerBuilder development.
- Did we mention a free personal-use copy of PowerBuilder? (In case you missed it!)
One of the most important roles played by ISUG members and users of Sybase products is that of helping to improve Sybase products. Through the enhancements request process, you may draw on your own experience to suggest fixes and new ideas for the next release. In order to submit an enhancements request you can be an ISUG Member of any type. However, you will need to be a Regular (paid) ISUG member to vote on any enhancements in the system. (Join ISUG now)
How the Submission Process Works
When users submit an enhancement request (using the Enhancement Request Form), it is sent to ISUG's enhancements committee. When the request is approved, after verifying the contents and adding a unique identification number, the following steps are taken:
- The request is added to the website .
- A confirmation is sent to the requester.
- ISUG members can rank the request and provide comments that could be useful for other voters and/or Sybase
The Sybase engineers who subscribe to the list will be able to give us a first indication of how Sybase is looking at the request and if plans for that request already exist.
The Voting Process
ISUG is using an absolute voting process meaning that each request could be a given a vote independent of the other requests. You may cast one of 6 possible votes, depending upon how you feel about the request:
| 5: Needed | 2: Not Recommended | |
| 4: Recommended | 1: Not Needed | |
| 3: Undecided | 0: No Vote (does not affect average_ |
Sybase Responses
Sybase can put a request in one of the following categories:
| ♦ In current product | ♦ Need more information | |
| ♦ Planned for a future release | ♦ Not planned | |
| ♦ Under consideration | ♦ This is a bug, not a feature | |
| ♦ Awaiting More Votes |
Also an explanation why the request received that status can be given.
Note: The development, release, and timing of any features and functionality described for Sybase's products remains at Sybase's sole discretion. Any forward looking information on this website, including stated plans for new features and enhancements, is intended to outline Sybase's general product direction and should not be relied on in making a purchasing decision.

Networking
ISUG provides four types of networking opportunities that you can participate in: User Groups (local, regional and virtual), and Special Interest Groups.
Local groups are chapters that hold meetings in your locality and if you have a local group near you, you should join that group in order to network with other Sybase users nearby.
Regional groups are "catch all" groups for the four regions that ISUG supports: North America, South/Latin America, EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) and Asia-Pacific. All members of local groups in a region are also automatically part of the regional group.
Virtual groups are groups that hold meetings online, and are almost always product specific, especially for products that serve specific market segments.
In additional to our user groups, ISUG also supports several Special Interest Groups (SIGs) which are online groups focused on specific products or topics. SIGs generally do not hold meetings and are instead a place to ask questions, look for help, share ideas, etc.
Joining a User Group
Most groups have instructions on how to join on their own page.
Check here to find your Local User Group. If you don't find a local group you can join the regional group instead, or consider joining a Virtual User Group (VUG).
If you already know which user group you'll be joining, you can apply online right now.
Starting a User Group
Our user group support page has all the documentation you need to start your own user group, including how to request a speaker for your meetings.
