By: Mr. Richard J Bianco on Mar 04, 2013

The PowerBuilder meteoric rise in the 90's and fall ten years later could never have been predicted. If you grew up with PowerBuilder in the '90's then you know what it was like when PowerBuilder was the hottest thing for developing client-server business applications.

But How Many Times have You been Told that PowerBuilder is Dead? I am sure dozens if not more. We used to hear the same thing about Cobol which was never "hot" like PowerBuilder and there is a shortage of Cobol programmers for the client I am with right now. There is no doubt that PowerBuilder is on the decline when it comes to market share and number of developers but there is no decline in the quality, productivity and value.
