Curing Deployment Headaches with ASE ADO.NET Provider 15.7

    The deployment of the ASE ADO.NET Data Provider can be a daunting task at best. Many have struggled with the Type Initializer failure and dealing with an unmanaged .NET component to work in conjunction with the managed component can oftentimes be very confusing. Back in the third ISUG-Tech Journal issue in 2007, I tried to dispel some of the mystery with “ASE ADO. NET Deployment Strategies” but things have changed for the better with the 15.7 ESD#04 version. In this arti- cle, I will discuss the products briefly and jump right into explaining the integration of the managed and unmanaged components.
