The topic will be “PowerBuilder 12.0 Beta 2 Deep Dive” by Don Clayton, President, Intertech Consulting. Don has been digging into the final beta of PowerBuilder 12.0, build 5244. In this session, we will review the features in both the PowerBuilder 12 "Classic" version and the PowerBuilder 12 .NET version. Don will review the feature set of PowerBuilder 12. Then will come the highlight of the meeting as attendees get to take the new PowerBuilder 12 Beta 2 out for a test-drive during an extended hands-on session exploring the features of the new IDE, creating and deploying a simple WPF application, and migrating an existing Win32 PowerBuilder application to WPF. The deep dive will include the installation of Beta 2, (bring your computers), a review of the expanded feature set for Beta 2, hands on with the PowerBuilder 12 .NET IDE, and a review of the release-defining features for PowerBuilder 12 “Classic”. Expect a spirited discussion regarding the software’s feature set and strategic ways to utilize the .NET framework and interoperate with other .NET languages and technologies.
