Afaria Boosted With Mobile App Deployment & Expense Management

    In case you missed the news, Sybase has earlier this month unveiled expanded management capabilities for the Afaria mobile device and application management solution.

    With the latest release of Afaria, Sybase says that enterprises will now be able to manage mobile devices, applications and telecommunication expenses on a single platform.

    Highlights of the new features include application “on-boarding” for iOS, Android and BlackBerry devices to enable IT organizations to create and pre-load libraries of mobile apps for simplified access by authorized employees.

    There is also Telecommunication Expense Management (TEM) to provide administrators with a tool for easily managing employee mobile costs such as voice and data roaming.

    Last but not least, Afaria appliance “greatly simplifies” (says Sybase) and accelerates the installation of Afaria for trials, POCs, and production, and is a critical component driving SAP application on-boarding.

    “Corporate IT today needs to effectively tap the opportunity of mobility to securely boost employee productivity and engage customers, while successfully improving the bottom line,” said Joe Owen, vice president of engineering, Sybase iAnywhere. “As we continue to expand and innovate our enterprise mobility platform, SAP and Sybase are delivering to the enterprise what they need to securely and quickly deploy mobility solutions, and stay ahead of their competition.”
