Session Previews: José Ramos Sr. Product Manager SAP HANA Platform

By: Mr. Adrian Bridgwater on Mar 05, 2015

What is your position in your place of work?

I’m a member of the SAP HANA Platform product management team. My focus in on the SQL Anywhere database and the DB Control Center component of HANA. I’m responsible for product direction and lifecycle management of those technologies. I work closely with customers and developers to ensure our products are competitive in the market.

What is the title of your session and when is it?

    1. Introducing SAP DB Control Center: A New DBA Tool for SAP Databases

    2. Building Offline Applications with SAP Mobile Platform

    3. Developing .NET Applications Using the SAP HANA Data Platform

    4. Synchronizing Data in SAP HANA Using SAP SQL Anywhere

What gave you the inspiration and drive to present these topics in this way?

My work involves being very familiar with a wide range of technologies and I typically look for ways to combine them to solve business problems. As such, my sessions involve several SAP products that can be used in specific situations. It’s a great way to learn and share knowledge, as well as coming up with creative ways to deal with real-world issues.

Why should people come to your session and why does it rock?

My DB Control Center session is all about a new way to administer and monitor a landscape of SAP databases, so it’s a good session to attend to discover what SAP is doing for DBAs. My other sessions relate to specialized development topics (offline apps, .NET and data sync) so they’ll be appealing to developers looking to implement those types of applications.

What is the one thing you hope attendees will take away from your session?

Build anything and make it pretty – You have the tools available!
